Stories change people. People change communities.

What I Do

Rural and remote communities have the resources and the knowledge to creatively solve their own problems. I partner with communities to create story-centered collaborations that make space for dialogue, address local challenges, and build community resilience.

What can a rural arts consultant do for your community?

Many communities are facing a rural exodus, job scarcity, and increased social isolation. Others want to commemorate the history of their town, celebrate their elders, or imagine the community’s future with their young people. By partnering with a rural arts consultant, communities can tell transformative stories that inspire dialogue across difference and promote positive change.

How does your process work?

I equip community members to collect stories which can inspire a variety of project types. Whether we produce an original play about your community, host a story-telling event, or engage in civic action, community members will engage with their shared narratives (and each other!) in a new way.

How long do you work with a community group?

Projects most often range between 4-12 months.  Projects that include play development, production, and community mentoring may take up to 12-18 months.

What kinds of collaborations are possible?

I currently offer four partnership tiers:

Tier 1: Project Consultant

Tier 2: Project Consultant, Playwright/Event Facilitator

Tier 3: Project Consultant, Playwright, Director

Tier 4: Project Consultant, Playwright, Director, Community Mentor

Please contact me to discuss the costs associated with each tier.
